Esports Coordinator

Part Time – 15 hours per week

Chai Lifeline Canada is looking for an Esports coordinator to develop engaging tournament fundraisers (Fortnite, Rocket League, etc.) The ideal candidate for this position has a proven track record of successfully organizing gaming events or tournaments.  You have a passion for the gaming industry and experience in tournament organizing. You are driven to ensure that our events are up to the highest expectations of our players.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Brand Creation
    • Advise board on logo, name, slogan
    • Implement social media profiles (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitch)
  • Community Coordinator
    • Set up and oversee a team of brand ambassadors
    • Manage and recruit new players and coaches
  • Tournament Management
  • Coordinate with tournament admin referees, broadcasters, and players etc. (if applicable) to ensure tournament success
  • Develop, maintain and uphold tournament ruleset
  • Automate and/or optimize the process of player signup and bracket seeding/distribution (Tournament Sign Ups)
  • Brand Partnerships:
    • Recruit and manage potential brand sponsorships and influencers

Key Requirements for this role are as follows:

  • Experience in hosting successful local event is an asset
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in event planning or event coordinating
  • An understanding of gaming industry and the ecosystem of esports is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
  • 1+  year in tournament organization is an asset
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently, comfortable in being self-directed
  • Ability to work efficiently in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work under the pressure of deadlines, changing priorities in a multi-tasking environment.
  • A team player who can act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Strong problem-solving skills
