Camp Lifeline 2022

We may be a little biassed, but Camp Lifeline might just be the best summer camp in the city. The campers show up every morning looking forward to a day of fun and we never let them down! When activities include foam parties, fire shows, petting zoos, carnivals, science shows, splash pads, ATVs and horseback riding trips, the kids know they are in for a great time.

To quote a parent of a camper, “I could not keep up with my kid’s excitement, but I’m so so happy listening to the non-stop stories and how much fun they had.”

Camp Lifeline, which is sponsored by the Stephen and Shelley Arbib Foundation, will have Jodi Basch and Jaime Ber as the head counsellors, with Meirav Stopnicki as Camp Director. A safe haven for kids with fragile immune systems and complex medical needs, Camp Lifeline is a specialised day camp for children who cannot attend regular summer camp. Like all Chai Lifeline Canada programs, the camp is free because we want our Chai kids to be able to have a summer camp experience despite their medical needs. There are currently 10 campers signed up which will allow there to be a 1:1 ratio with their counsellors, a unique aspect of camp. Other special measures we take at Camp Lifeline include a camp nurse and that all counsellors are CPR trained and certified.

Meirav shared that this summer’s theme is focused on careers. “We are gearing up to imagine what it would be like to be firefighters, dancers, flight attendants and so much more.” She also told us that her favourite part of Camp Lifeline is, “getting to see the smiling faces and the special bonds that are formed through exciting activities that help foster these connections amongst our campers.”

It’s crazy how fast the year flew by, but we are looking forward to welcoming back our returning campers and greeting our new campers for another incredible summer of fun at Camp Lifeline 2022!
