In our house, Chanukah is a very important time of year!  One in which our family always looks forward to celebrating together.  Every year before the holidays, we have our children make a Chanukah list of the things that they would like to get as presents.  The kids are usually very excited to tell us about the new toys or games that they have seen on TV or the internet.

We are so grateful to have three healthy, happy and loving boys….we wanted to show them that the holidays are about giving, not just receiving.

My husband looked into many charitable organizations but when he found Chai Lifeline Canada, it touched our hearts.  It was evident from the outset that Chai Lifeline Canada is an organization that does so much for children and families who are in need.  Their support for kids and their loved ones is amazing!  Their warmth and excitement to bring joy and smiles to those children they are supporting have created a spark in our own kids.

Now every year, our three boys look forward to going to Toy R’ Us to shop other children’s list and not their own.  They now have an understanding of the importance to give back, Chai Lifeline Canada has helped us with this life lesson.  Our eldest son wrote in a school autobiography how amazing his dad is for helping to grant a wish to a child who is in the hospital.  We believe that being a Chanukah Hero is building their character and showing them that there are people who take care of others in all different ways, that even at their young age, they too can be apart of it.

We love taking time out of our busy schedules around the holidays to visit our friends at the Chai Lifeline office.  We bring items from other kids wish lists, our boys are so excited to deliver these wishes.  My kids enthusiastically pull out each item explaining to the staff what it is and how much fun the kids who are receiving, will have with them.

Our family is so appreciative that we are now apart of the Chai Lifeline Family.  In a world that is increasingly challenging, they have allowed us to teach our kids about kindness, support, friendship and to show compassion to those who we may not know, but care for all the same!

Thank you,
