Matching pink sweatshirts + plane trip across Canada + 3 days at West Edmonton Mall = MAGICAL experience!

This trip started as a dream between our Executive Director, Mordechai Rothman, and the head of B’nai Akiva schools, Rabbi Grauer. A year ago, Mordechai had stopped in at West Edmonton Mall and as he walked around and saw the indoor waterpark and amusement park, he thought that it would be the PERFECT place to send some Chai kids. Soon after, Rabbi Grauer reached out saying that he wanted to do something special for the girls who had been taking on extra learning throughout the year. They decided to bring these two groups together for an amazing three-day trip.

The Chai girls who are on the trip include those who have siblings going through health crises, some clients that are medically stable enough to go, as well as some Penina’s Helping Hand girls who are having a rough time. This is a group of girls who deserve some fun and excitement! Only a day in, they have already gone swimming, bowling, exploring around the Mall and had dinner hosted by the Beth Israel synagogue in Edmonton.

What an incredible three days! From the Galaxyland Amusement Park to the World Waterpark and everything in between, our adventurers explored it all. And so much fun was had every step of the way! We would like to say a very warm THANK YOU to West Edmonton Mall and their team of employees who helped facilitate this once in a lifetime opportunity for our Chai Lifeline Family.
