Wish at the Wall 2022: Amanda and Emma-Belle

The 2022 Wish at the Wall trip included Chai Lifeline Canada teens, Amanda and Emma-Belle, who were joined by their mothers, Suzy and Lisa.

“The Wish at the Wall trip to Israel afforded me an incredible 10 days filled with joy – something that was nearly impossible to imagine in the dark days of treatment” Amanda shared upon her return. “Being able to experience alongside my mother, who was with me every step of the way on my tumultuous cancer journey, made the experience full-circle and even more special. I will look back fondly on these 10 days for the rest of my life and carry with me not only the memories, but the feeling of being a proud, Jewish, cancer-survivor who has finally reached the light at the end of a dark tunnel and emerged in Israel.”

Both Emma-Belle and her mother, Lisa, experienced Israel for the first time with Wish at the Wall. Looking back at these past couple of years as a whole, Emma-Belle shared that each day was filled with one special moment after another. “Chai Lifeline has always been there for me – through both my cancer journey and heart surgery. These 10 days will never be forgotten. Being a cancer survivor has made me strong. A few years ago, I couldn’t walk very far without being winded, but while I was in Israel, I walked up Masada! It was a dream come true and I was so happy to be able to share it with my Mom.”
